In order to kick start participation in public peering at mcix there is an introductory offer in place for early participants. Under the offer the first ten participants will benefit from a free port connected to the public peering vlan until 1st April 2006. In addition no charges will be made for any participants until 1st October 2005.

By using the public peering service with a trunk port, service providers can also reduce the cost of a point-to-point service between two sites. They will only pay for one port and an additional VLAN making the cost of a point-to-point connections between two data centres as low as £720 when you connect to the public peering service.
